7 July – 30 September - Beyer-Garratt Locomotives of the World
The first Beyer-Garratt articulated locomotive went into production at Beyer, Peacock’s Gorton works in January 1909. Between 1909 and 1958, 176 orders were placed with Beyer, Peacock for Garratt locomotives, and a total of 1,116 engines were built.
