Terrace Hill buys Heaton Retail Park in Manchester

Terrace Hill Group, the aim listed property development and investment group, has formed a funding and development joint venture with Peveril Securities to buy a Manchester development site.

It has bought the Heaton Retail Park in Manchester from Standard Life Investments for £5.7 m.

7 July – 30 September - Beyer-Garratt Locomotives of the World

The first Beyer-Garratt articulated locomotive went into production at Beyer, Peacock’s Gorton works in January 1909. Between 1909 and 1958, 176 orders were placed with Beyer, Peacock for Garratt locomotives, and a total of 1,116 engines were built. Please note the Collections Centre is open Tuesdays – Saturdays only.

It’s been estimated that around 2,5000 tonnes of unwanted CDs are being thrown away every year – a substantial portion of the waste being sent to landfill. This exhibition, created by Lee Middlehurst, uses waste CDs and DVDs to create these beautiful works of art, each shard being individually hand-crafted to produce very particular piece of artwork.
